Well, the bad news is that I recently posted the final update to Phone’s Eye View v.1. The joystick on my t616 had been slowing dying for a while, and it was time for it to be retired. (ok, it was also just a piece of crap, and I was happy to see it go.)
So a little over a week ago, I migrated over to Cingular, sold my soul to the flip-phone nation, and purchased a Motorola v551. Not a bad phone, much better than the t616. So far, I only have one complaint: the buttons on the side of the phone are used to change the ringer volume. I keep my phone is the same pocket as my cigarettes, which pretty much fills up that pocket. The problem is that these buttons cannot be locked — so it changes on its own from vibrate to loud. This is not a minor problem! Motorola, let me lock those keys!
Anyways, this all brings me to the good news, the impending development of Phone’s Eye View v.2. The v551 takes much better pictures than my t616, which I honestly have really mixed feeling about. I certainly like better, bigger pictures, but at the same time, I really liked the grainy, low-tech feel of the pictures from the t616. So I’m still deciding what exactly to do with the images, but don’t worry: there will be a Phone’s Eye View version 2.
